That means it doesn’t consume gas, it doesn’t “wear out” fluid, and it doesn’t require routine servicing in the way an engine does. If your AC is blowing cold and working as it should, there is nothing to service.

Topping up AC gas is often treated as maintenance, but in reality it’s only a temporary fix. If the gas is low or empty, it means there is a fault somewhere in the system. Gas doesn’t just disappear on its own. Without finding and repairing the leak, a regas simply masks the problem.
